Historical context: A towering sandstone cliff rises above the green floor of Zion Canyon in this silkscreen poster, created around 1938 by the WPA's Federal Art Project for the National Park Service. It promoted the Ranger Naturalist Service's field trips, campfire programmes and natural history museum. The original is held in the Library of Congress.
