Hi, I'm the person behind Historicalee.

I studied history, and the subject never let go of me. Most evenings you'll find me with a history book or a documentary, and over time my own room started to show it: I began covering the walls with historical pictures, maps, documents and, above all, wartime posters.

Propaganda posters fascinated me most. In a single image they capture what a country feared, hoped for and wanted its people to believe at one of the most dramatic moments in its history. They are bold, beautifully designed and full of stories. Friends who visited kept asking where they could get them, and that is how Historicalee began.

What we do

We bring original First and Second World War posters from Britain, France, the United States, Russia, Germany and beyond back to life as museum-grade prints. Every poster in the shop comes with its historical context, so you know not just what it looks like, but what it meant.

A note on the posters

Propaganda was designed to persuade, and some of these posters reflect the hostility and prejudice of their time. We offer them as historical documents and works of graphic art, to help people understand the past, not to promote the messages they carried.
