Historical context: Drawn by Petros Roumbos (1873–1942) around 1917–1918 and printed in Athens by Louropoulos & Loumakis for the Patriotic Union, this poster shows weary Greek soldiers asleep in a muddy trench of the Macedonian Front. Above them rises their "dream": a victorious charge beneath the Greek flag and a winged Victory, towards the domes and minarets of Constantinople, the old goal of the Megali Idea. The title reads "The Dream of Our Army"; the poster sold for 30 lepta.
