Historical context: Produced around 1951 by the U.S. Information Service for distribution in the Philippines, during the communist Hukbalahap insurgency, this poster shows a farmer with a bolo knife hacking the hammer and sickle away from the islands. It was issued in English and Filipino versions under the slogan "It's everybody's job" and is one of the boldest designs in the U.S. National Archives' collection of early Cold War propaganda distributed in Asia.
