Historical context: Made by Mihály Bíró, Hungary's most famous political poster artist, for the Hungarian Social Democratic Party in 1918, as the war ended and Austria-Hungary collapsed. A giant landlord in red grips the map of the old Kingdom of Hungary, while the text reads: "Old Hungary was in the hands of the landlords; the people wandered with a beggar's staff. If you want it to be different from now on – vote Social Democrat!" Bíró's bold red figures became a model for political posters across Central Europe.
